Properties: Perception, awareness, psychic ability.

 While the throat chakra can be called the bridge between the mind and the body, imagine the third eye as our connection between heaven and earth. This is where we experience psychic phenomena such as clairvoyance and clairaudience. We also glean inspiration, and our true purpose from our inner knowledge through this chakra. Milestones are attained in our spiritual growth when we start working with the third eye. We find this chakra parallel to the eyebrows in the center of the forehead. It encompasses the pineal gland, which can be felt tingling in the center of the head along with the brow, when this chakra is activated. 

 The pineal gland is responsible for our bio-rhythms and is more active at night as it determines our awake and sleep times. People's eyes are said to sparkle when the pineal gland is activated and energy is running freely through this chakra. The pituitary gland and carotid nerve plexus are also supported by the third eye as well as the brain, forehead, brow, eyes, and nose. We may experience headaches, facial pressure, blurry vision, and mental fog when there is blockage in the third eye. It is the chakra of thinking and understanding of symbolisms, with an open third eye chakra we receive information effortlessly through our higher will and discover more mental endurance and better memory. Vivid dreams are common and our imagination and visualization capacity is greatly enhanced. 

 The smooth functioning of this chakra will bring us emotional depth and inner peace. We find tranquility in our awareness of a divine plan unfolding in our lives. New levels of intuition and clarity bring our spirit to transcend duality, to see past polarity and adopt a witness consciousness when viewing life around us. The third eye creates harmony between the left and right brain hemispheres, marrying creative thinking and logic for an enhanced vision of our lives. Living aligned with our true nature and understanding the deeper meanings of situations and life in general as intuition grows into psychic ability.
